Lallemand Animal Nutrition names Dr. Ignacio R. Ipharraguerre as Research & Development Director

Renowned animal nutrition scientist joins global leader in microbial solutions to accelerate research and innovation

TOULOUSE, FRANCE, April 23, 2026 — Lallemand Animal Nutrition announced today the appointment of Dr. Ignacio R. Ipharraguerre as director of research and development for animal solutions, effective immediately. In his new role, he will oversee the business unit’s global research and development initiatives, guiding scientific teams and driving innovation across its portfolio of products and technologies.

Dr. Ipharraguerre brings more than 25 years of combined academic and industry experience in animal nutrition science and innovation management to the role. He is the author or co-author of more than 180 publications, including 78 peer-reviewed journal articles, and holds six patents in the field of animal nutrition.

Dr. Ipharraguerre brings a distinguished record of scientific achievement and industry leadership to the role. He joins Lallemand Animal Nutrition from the University of Kiel’s Institute of Human Nutrition and Food Science in Germany, where he serves as senior scientist leading research on the effects of dietary interventions on the enterohepatic system, with a particular focus on the resulting immunometabolic implications for the host. He also holds a sustaining courtesy assistant professor position in the Department of Animal Sciences at the University of Florida.

Dr. Ipharraguerre earned a bachelor’s degree in agricultural sciences from the University of Buenos Aires, Argentina, in 1996, before completing his master’s degree (2001) and Ph.D. (2004) in animal sciences at the University of Illinois, United States of America where he specialized in the nutritional physiology of dairy cows.
