During the Joint Annual Meeting (JAM) conference between the American Dairy Science Association (ADSA) and the American Society of Animal Science (ASAS) in Indianapolis, Lallemand North America Technical Services Manager, Dr. Angel Aguilar, presented the Lallemand Animal Nutrition Award sponsored for the first time by Lallemand. The award was presented at the ADSA award ceremony on July 10, 2013.
The 2013 winner is Dr. Barry Bradford, Associate Professor in Dairy Nutrition in the Department of Animal Sciences and Industry at Kansas State University (KSU). This award is designed to recognize outstanding achievement in research, teaching, extension and industry in applied dairy nutrition by scientists during the first ten years of their professional career. Dr. Bradford’s research has contributed to the understanding of nutrients as signaling agents, optimal use of non-forage fiber by-products and the effect of inflammation on metabolic function. He also has co-authored 36 refereed journal articles pertaining to his research.
Dr. Aguilar shared that he is very impressed with the work of his friend, Dr. Ken Odde, Department Head of Animal Sciences and Industry at KSU.
“I’d like to congratulate Dr. Odde on the outstanding job performed by Dr. Bradford and the many other award recipients from KSU,” Dr. Aguilar says. “My colleagues at Lallemand join me in praising the remarkable job KSU students have done for the dairy industry, and thanking Dr. Bradford for his contributions.”
