Welcome to another edition of In The Mix. Well the threepeat of La Niña is well on the way and delivering what can now only be called a “green drought” across Eastern Australia. It's remarkable for a wide range of reasons. We've gone from the mega dry of 2019 to enormous falls of water across the eastern seaboard. Its simply extraordinary. Crops are failing, we can’t harvest or plant in massive areas of Australia. And to top it off the rain just keeps coming. Then at the end of November we had snow in the VIC Ranges and 35 degree’s in Brisbane. Well I am sure the crazy times will continue across our climate, our supply chains, inflation, and interest rates. So more than ever the time to reflect across the Summer should be spent thinking “what can I do different next year”. Whether its using less antibiotics, enhancing rumen function, monitoring your cattle, planning for more silage to future proof your operation, Lallemand has the solutions and the people the people to help you.

Welcome to another edition of In The Mix. As the world sits still in its chair looking at the cards on the table, its no wonder the markets are on edge. The world seems nervous, as do the Australian markets. With geopolitical tension high, global inflation and recession concerns, the La Nina threepeat, Foot and Mouth on the doorstep, Lumpy Skin Disease coming, chronic staff shortages, and even Varroa mite it seems we have a lot coming at us. Its putting continued pressure on biosecurity - imports, pricing and supply chain. Be sure to know the best strategy moving forward will be one of productivity over your compatriot. Welcome to the Autumn edition of In the Mix. How time fly’s! COVID seems to be settling down and a sense of normal is descending down on us, but is it really? The chaos of supply chains, raw material pricing and availability continue to cause concern with no light at the end of the tunnel. Throw in the recent drenching of rain? The devastation from Gympie to Tweed, to Lismore and beyond? Our thoughts must reside with those that lost so much. The conflict in Ukraine is unsettling an already unsettled world and the markets are becoming more uncertain and ever changing. Welcome to the Summer Edition of In The Mix. Well we thought 2020 was a rollcoaster, how's 2021 been for you? For the team at Lallemand it's been a full year. From our first stand at Beef Week with thousands of visitors to our multi-stakeholder site, to a booming silage season across Australia. The rains continue with a La Nina pattern now entrenched across Eastern Australia. The old adage was “make hay while the sun shines” is now “make silage whilst you have excess feed, future proof your business”. SmaXtec, our live rumen bolus monitoring device continues to gain traction and we’re seeing dairy farmers learn the real value of temp, activity and rumination monitoring delivering early intervention strategies for cows.
