As many pig producers will know, farrowing management begins months before piglets are born, and can impact piglet vitality and overall production. For vets, it is extremely important to be aware of both the external signs, and internal implications of farrowing difficulties. This is to ensure that precautions can be taken before significant issues arise.

Lallemand Animal Nutrition, held an insightful webinar on 11th February looking at:
• Sow behavioural and physiological signs of farrowing, both internal and external
• The potential problems at farrowing, for example constipation and its consequences
• Solutions to these problems
• Maternal microbial imprinting
• Piglet vitality
