Corn seminar in the Netherlands: from seed selection to silage management
Sep 30, 2015

On the 3rd of September 2015, our Dutch partner Van Iperen, distributor of our LALSIL® range of silage inoculants, organized a “Verdiperingsdag” seminar around Corn. Twenty-five persons, representing 16 dealers from different regions attended this event held in conjunction with local seed supplier.
During the day, different workshops offered a practical approach of different aspects of corn production: seed selection, corn performance evaluation, corn fertilization and silage management. This latest part was presented by Piet Riemersma, Van Iperen Technical Manager.
Piet explained the cause and issues of heating in corn silage, before showing how good silage management practices and the use of specific inoculant Lalsil® Fresh (L. buchneri NCIMB 40788) can help keeping corn silage cool and reduce losses of nutrients. The interactive workshops were great opportunities for our partner to interact with its dealers, resulting in a growing interest in the use of LALSIL Fresh!
