Nezus Philippines Corporation is a Philippine company, founded in December 2011. With now 17 employees, Nezus distributes Lallemand’s feed additives for swine and poultry.
How long have you been working with Lallemand Animal Nutrition’s products?
“We started our relationship with Lallemand in July 2013. We started by distributing ALKOSEL and AGRIMOS, and then we registered other products in the Philippines, such as LEVUCELL SB.”
Can you tell us a bit about the animal nutrition market in the Philippines, and your route to market for Lallemand solutions? Your LEVUCELL SB success story?
“Swine and poultry are the major markets for livestock in the Philippines. The poultry industry is concentrated with big integrators representing around 80% of the market. On the other hand, the swine market is around 65% backyard farming and only 35% of commercial farms with 500 to 40,000 sows. In poultry, we focus on broiler integrators. We sell LEVUCELL SB direct to breeders and broilers operations. Our market is still growing in swine, selling LEVUCELL SB direct to a good number of large commercial farms and feedmills. In addition, we have some local distribution partners. We are based in Luzon. We partner with local distributors for the areas of Visayas and Mindanao, where 2 and 4 major islands, respectively, concentrate most of the swine breeding of the country. There, the main issue is logistics.”
Why did you choose to work with Lallemand Animal Nutrition? What do you like about your partnership with Lallemand?
“When we started, it was very difficult because we were introducing a concept that was new to the market. We had to educate the market about the probiotics approach. The good thing about Lallemand is their continuous support. The Local Technical Sales Manager visits customers with us. We also benefit from the expertise of an external poultry consultant, Dr. Chin from Singapore, and the global team. International technical meetings are very valuable for our market. We invite key customers, and they get the feeling of the Lallemand expertise and network.”
In your opinion, what differentiates Lallemand from other companies?
“Lallemand offers innovation and a healthy product pipeline. The company’s focus on research is real and this is very important to guarantee a good product pipeline. We are confident that we will be able to introduce new products in the coming years. For example, we have just registered MELOFEED, and we are now registering YANG.”
