The use of the specific live yeast Saccharomyces cerevisiae var. boulardii CNCM I-1079 (LEVUCELL SB) a live yeast which works by binding pathogens, while at the same time, supports the growth of beneficial bacteria as well as interfering with the colonization of undesirable ones. It also has the specific capacity to inhibit some microbial toxin activity and is the first feed additive in the EU to be authorised for salmonella carcass reduction.
