Forage inoculants: The bugs must be alive

Sep 19, 2013

The use of a microbial forage inoculant is the principle type of silage additive in the United States.  A recent article by Renato Schmidt, PhD, Technical Services – Forage, Lallemand Animal Nutrition, entitled, “Forage inoculants: The bugs must be alive” was published in the August 10, 2013 issue of Progressive Forage. It outlines the importance of viability of microbial inoculants to do the job it was intended to do, and summarizes trial work on water temperature of the mixture.

This is one in a series of five editorial submissions that the Lallemand Animal Nutrition, North America technical services team has penned throughout the year for Progressive Dairyman and Progressive Forage
