Marina LAST, Production Planner at Lallemand Felixstowe yeast plant: “We all work together and support each other”

The people behind the products: meet Marina LAST, Production planner at Lallemand Felixstowe yeast plant.

Can you briefly introduce yourself? 

I am the production planner here at the plant. I started with the company three and a half years ago, and I very much enjoy working with this amazing team!

What is a typical day like? 

I create the work plans for all the different production areas. When I arrive in in the morning I first check where we are in terms with the original plan, and I fine tune and adjust it where necessary. I work closely with all the departments to ensure everything goes smoothly and as planned.  

What do you like the most about your job? 

Probably the fact that every day is different and brings its own challenges. I enjoy problem solving and working out how to put the pieces of this big puzzle together to ensure the smooth running of production. There is good team spirit here and I very much enjoy working closely with all departments to keep everything moving as it should. I feel very supported buy all colleagues including operators, managers and engineers. 

What has been the biggest challenge and achievement in the last year? 

Last year we installed the new drum dryer, and this was a big challenge! It involved making some adjustments within the team and training operators on how to run it. After some initial teething issues, it has been a huge success and now runs very well. This was one of the highlights of the last year and has been very rewarding project to be part of.
